One's hair style can be considered a reflection of their personality. People want their hair "done" in a certain way before going out into public. My mother feared losing her hair due to cancer treatment and I wanted her to not feel alone so I shaved mine. I tried to be confident in my decision to help her realize that it's just hair and it will grow back. I learned that the truth for me was having a typical hairstyle helped me blend in. Being bald made me stand out and feel exposed. Veil, a brooch with my hair covering up a small mirror, is about the way that I see myself when alone and how I portray myself to the world when in public.
