Long after my mother’s passing, my grief continued. Being around others was difficult because of all of the emotions that came along with my grief. I felt very exposed as though everyone knew how sad I was and this was embarrassing. I often avoided social gatherings, many times left stores in tears and had trouble even facing the day. I now understand that these feelings are not unusual during grief. Grief Sashes convey some of the thoughts and feelings I felt were so obvious at certain moments.
