Residue
Residue
my mother's used cosmetics and cosmetic tools, plaster, found mirror

After my mom died, I spent time going through her closet and vanity. She had a large amount of beauty products. I found a connection to her when I would open a half used jar of moisturizer, take in its scent and touch where she had touched. Residue is a collection of these products encased in plaster. The fragile shell traps her imprints in the products that were so important to her daily routine.
